Does the location of my attorney matter for an OPM disability claim?

Return to FAQs

Transcript:

The actual location of the attorney who represents you in your OPM Disability claim is really actually irrelevant simply because the whole claim is processed through paper and on the internet. Everything is submitted to OPM through mail and they actually go through all the paperwork. It’s a records review. And so, as long as your attorney can put the package together and provide all the documentation necessary for you to be approved, it doesn’t matter if they’re across the street or in another state.
