Can I receive Federal Workers’ Compensation benefits and Social Security disability benefits at the same time?

Return to FAQs

Transcript:

Yes, you can. However, the workers’ compensation benefits are considered primary, which means they pay their full amount for wages, and the medical care for all workers’ comp injuries are covered through workers’ comp. Anything not workers’ comp medical would be covered by Social Security. As far as the wages go, they pay a supplement, or an amount above the amount you get paid, up to approximately 80% of your wages.
